The trail itself is well maintained and has a moderate incline nearly the entire way gain of ft in elevation. Your legs will be burning by the time you reach the summit, but it is definitely doable for the average hiker. The trail is 6 miles round trip. The entire Salt Lake Valley can be seen from the top. It is a great place to watch the sunset over the valley and the Great Salt Lake. On the way up you have have beautiful views of both surrounding canyons.

You'll definitely feel the burn in your legs on the way up, but accompanying this is spectacular views in all directions. Ive made this hike at both sunrise and sunset before and it was absolutely breathtaking both times. Pretty steep hike if you come from the west trail. Ive also been rattled at by a rattlesnake at the top among the crags, so watch out for rattlesnakes!!!

I agree with those who recommended going to Church Fork for the descent. Took a huge amount of time to manage to only fall once. By late spring, wildflowers dot the hillside and can be quite good. Summers are hot. If hiking in the summer, get as early of a start as possible. Finally, fall brings foliage and cooler temps and an excellent time for hiking before winter sets in. An almost full moon setting over Grandeur Peak.
To get there, take I South from I and take exit 4 off of I and go left east on South. Turn left on Wasatch Blvd just after crossing under the highway, then the next right on Millcreek Canyon Road. To the North you have grand view of the city and the Great Salt Lake. I spent quite some time here, taking in the view. The hike down was a great trail run and a lot faster than the way up.
